It is hard to believe that my baby is now 5 years old. I will admit, it was a hard birthday for me. Planning a birthday party for a 5 year old girl was a dream, but, I was quiet and sad for most of the week leading up to the day. It’s so hard to explain what these little milestones do to a mom. There was even a moment during the party I got emotional watching her. Ugh, okay, enough of that! So, if you remember, I took my daughter on a mommy and me girls trip to Disney World in the Spring. It was amazing for the both of us and when we began planning her 5th birthday party, the first thing she said was, “I want my friends to meet Belle.”
Birthday Party For A 5 Year Old Girl
Planning a birthday party for a 5-year-old girl is probably the easiest party I have planned. Seriously, Disney Princess Belle theme is everywhere. So, to start we found a Disney Princess Bounce house. This is truly the easiest birthday with bounce house deliveries. MoonJump arrived earlier in the day (rain or shine or snow) and set everything up. I like the idea the we got a few hours before the party with the jump house. It gave mommy time to set everything up.
So, what did I need to do. Well, the table. When I have kids birthday parties at my home, I give the big table to the birthday girl and her friends. It is their special day. Ideally I wanted to set the table outside but we were having a rainy day and I didn’t want to take any chances with rain showers during the party. I alway use a large restaurant style tablecloth, they are only $6, that I got for my husbands 40th birthday party. They are polyester and I can just bleach them if cake or pizza sauce gets on them. I layered the table with all the Disney Princess Decor from Target. I set each place setting for the kids before hand. To keep them busy while we serve I always get a couple tabletop items, like birthday hats, those blow thing’s lol, and yes, even candy. It’s a birthday party, why not.
When it comes to birthday cakes, there is the one and only Grandma extraordinaire who creates the perfect cakes for each of our big days. She did a Belle cake for my little girl and for me she made a Frozen cake. Yup, my birthday was the day before.
Okay, so entertainment, besides bounce house. We had a special guest, the one and only Belle direct from Disney World aka Chicago Princess Parties. Belle arrived in full character and never broke character. Even with me. She read them a story, answered all their questions, then sang happy birthday with all of. OH, and then, she ballroom danced with each and every little special guest. That is when I got emotional. I couldn’t help it, they all lit up when it was their turn.
Well, I had a blast, I sure hope my little one did too, I know Nonno did.
