Back To School Bedroom Makeover: Big Girl Bedroom

It is officially Back To School time and my little Lucy couldn’t be more excited. She actually loves school and learning, just this morning she even said to me while heading out the door, “I bet I am going to learn a lot today.” I wanted to bring that enthusiasm for learning from school to home. I spent the summer updating her room, creating a space that would allow her to focus on schoolwork, while also build a love for reading. Nothing like a nice big desk to be creative or a comfy lounge chair to relax and read in.

I spent some time on their digital catalog and pinned a few pieces that would work for the back-to-school bedroom makeover. While the furniture was being shipped I cleared out her room and updated the space in a dusty rose with a accent wall. Once the walls were complete and the furniture arrived, I have begun to get her settled in for school with a desk space under her new bed with a bookcase just an arms reach away.

A key piece for me was the larger bookcase. It can store her toys, collections, and more school book items. But, I didn’t want to cover the entire accent wall so I love how part of the wall is visible with the bookcase. Also, I wanted to give her a lounge-type chair to relax and read in. Every time I pass her room she is sitting in her chair and I must admit, it is the most comfortable chair I have in my home!
