Cryotherapy Benefits
Like many, the New Year brings about a desire to make a better effort in taking care of ourselves. It is common practice to make healthier resolutions or like me, learning to put myself first when it comes to self-care. I am not even looking for radical changes, just simple easy ways I can take care of myself, and I was excited to discover cryotherapy benefits for my skin and all those bodily aches.
You all know me, I am a scardey cat when it comes to new things and I know that botox scares me. So to have something with ZERO toxins rejuvenate my skin and my joints (without injections), I am all in.
The day that CryoPure reached out I was in the ER of a local hospital, yup! Remember that story on Instagram? I had fallen down a flight of stairs and lost memory. Suffered a major concussion and naturally bruised the entire side of my body. I was spent.
I was in the middle of a real estate zoom class, plus a listing property photoshoot for a potential client, PLUS the family and kids texting. I thought and believed I could handle it all. As I was walking down the stairs of my listing to lock up, while in a zoom class, I lost my step and fell.
As a result I have shoulder damage and long term vertigo.
But it was at this moment that CryoPure reached out and I didn’t hesitate to “say YES! I will give it a try.”
They asked if I wanted a facial/skin treatment to help reduce lines and then some body treatments.
If reducing wrinkles meant NO injections, THEN YES. If reducing my joint pain from the fall meant no surgery THEN YES!
Remeber when you fell down as a kid and they gave you an ice pack?
Well, imagine your face or body in an ice pack. It works for almost the same reason.
Standing in a cold tank might seem odd, but the trend, which goes by the name of cryotherapy, is becoming increasingly popular. From the greek name cryo = cold, I am convinced after 2+ years of traditional physical therapy for my bursitis that it works! Extreme cold can improve mental and physical health and even prolong life.
Okay, let’s state “my” facts; The cold temps are not for everyone. You can work your way up to the first level of cold and decide it is not for you. But I will say I brought my husband and a girlfriend on two different occasions. They were able to tolerate it perfectly. I’m kind of jealous that I feel they did better than me on the first try. lol
So, Long Term Cryotherapy Benefits:
- Joint Pain: Sadly, Sign me up. After the first session I felt better. Might have been the numbing from the cold but it felt good. To maintain that feeling I knew I needed to go back
2. Muscle Weakness: UGH, YES, again me.
3. Weight Loss: Need I say more! tightening of the skin with cryo is a true blessing.
4. Preventing Dementia: That is right! Cryotherapy benefits don’t just affect your joints and muscles but even your mental health.
5. Anxiety/Depression/Headaches/Cancers/Eczema: After every treatment I felt energized and it truly stayed with me throughout the workday.
I didn’t realize how much impact #5 was going to have on me. Since starting my Real Estate career, I have been full force and extremely busy. To take a few minutes to literally rejuvenate my entire body and feel energized to conquer my day is one of the best gift cryotherapy gives me.
Now, to handle the fine lines, puffy eyes, and tiredness of my aging face, you don’t put your head in the chamber. You relax while laying down and a technician applies a cold “wand” on your face. It is just like getting a facial and you see almost immediate results.
I noticed the line on my forehead, plus the fine lines around my eyes diminish. Like anything, you need to maintain and continue going. Treat yourself to a facial every couple weeks and you are golden.
I visited CryoPure Spa in Highland Park Illinois and they are honoring a discount code for anyone that would like to give it a try. Just use the code KEKI15 at checkout to get 15% off their online purchase or at checkout.
