Affordable Area Rugs
I get asked about the area rugs in my home and rugs I use for home staging. When it comes to my own home, I have found affordable area rugs that have stood the test of time and I wanted to share the actual area rugs I use in my own home with some affordable options.
Living Room: I purchased these two rugs over five years ago and unfortunately the exact rugs are no longer available. They have held up remarkably. The cowhide rug even had a candle drop on it and catch fire but it was at the edge and I was able to cut it right out. No one can tell. The original cowhide rug in my home was from Cost Plus World Market, they have something similar now. The larger wool/jute rug was a part of the Nate Berkus Home Collection for Target and is no longer available. But here are similar.
Kitchen: The rug in my kitchen is actually an original vintage rug from Loom & Kiln, their inventory changes weekly so always check-in. But, if you can’t wait, here are some similar options.
Entryway: I layer this rug during the cold winter months. I usually just have the black wool/jut rug as is during the summer and spring. But come Fall and Winter I add a layer of small vintage rug to warm up the feel of the space. The rug was also a Nate Berkus rug that is no longer available but here are similar black wool mixed with jute rugs.
MudRoom Entrance: I love durable rugs. I mean, I have had my living and entryway rugs for over 5 years. But by “mudroom/side” entrance rug has been replaced almost yearly. With all the foot traffic and the rough winter months I could not find a rug to last until I discovered Chilwich. These rugs are beyond durable! There has been one in the summer beach house for almost a decade and it looks practically new. I am excited to finally have found these mats. They come in many colors, styles and sizes.
Boys Room: This is a great rug for a family room or any teenager’s space. I also love these rugs for Home Staging projects because they don’t break the bank.
Girls Room: For Lucy’s room I wanted something bright and I knew I wanted the style and design to last at least a decade. For that reason, I opted for 100% and a simply design that can go moder, traditional, or however she pleases. I always believe that yellow is a color that can work with those more feminine colors, like pink and purple, but also with blues and greens. It is very versatile. This rug was an estate sale find, but here are similar
