This is one of my favorite posts of the year, the designer showroom at High Point Market that I am still dreaming about. I shared the top design trends for 2019 last month, plus, the colors and textiles that were on full display. But, now I am excited to share some of the designer show rooms that are making an impact and an ever lasting impression, from antique pieces to rugs and outdoor furniture here are some brands to consider in your interior design.
Designer Showrooms at High Point Market
EJ Victor has not only continued it’s amazing collaboration with Kelly Wearstler and Ralph Lauren, but, I was introduced to their gorgous Bethan Gray Shamsian Collection. The Shamsian collection is inspired by Bethan’s family heritage and her extensive travels throughout the Middle East – from the sunlight across the castellations of the fort at Nizwa to the billowing sails of traditional Omani boatsThe collection is made in collaboration with master craftsman Mohammad Reza Shamsian and his Muscat-based workshop of highly skilled artisans using ancient techniques, such as 16th century marquetry, combined with cutting-edge technology and the finest natural materials including marble, hand-stained maple and brass.
Lloyd Flanders is the king of outdoor furniture. In 1906, Marshall B. Lloyd opened the Lloyd Manufacturing Company in Menominee, Michigan, where he developed a timeless and unique process for creating fine woven furniture. Today they continue crafting this heirloom furniture, in the same facility where it all began.
Cisco Brothers blew us all away with their sustainable furniture. I love what they represent, as they “recently added Environment to the Cisco “ecosystem”. Imagine a place where casual sophistication meets sustainability- this is Environment. More than a furniture company, Environment is, as the dictionary suggests: conditions of the natural world that surround people and affect the way they live. With innovation at its very core, Environment applies an astute sense of aesthetic to a diverse mix of sustainable materials and textures.”
Surya! Need I say more. I have used Surya products for years and visiting their showroom was a highlight. In 1976, a chance encounter in North India between a buyer from Federated Group (now Macy’s) and Surya Tiwari led to the creation of Surya Rugs, which started out as a small supplier of hand-knotted rugs. Realizing that it was critical to have more direct contact with customers, Surya Tiwari established a division in the U.S. in 1986 and appointed his son, Satya, as president in 2006. With the goal of becoming the go-to resource for coordinating, fashion forward home accessories, Satya has incrementally added new categories to Surya’s initial rug offerings. Surya continues to thrive and has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest growing privately-held companies for seven consecutive years.
A highlight was visiting the Norwalk Furniture showroom and spending time with Kim Salmela, what an amazing story she has to share. She has partnered with Norwalk Furniture in creating a line that feels well-traveled but classic. A true chic lifestyle feel but with that hint of modern boho.
DHP Furniture has a fun line with the Novogratz, remember I met them last year at High Point. I love the look and definitely the price point of their pieces. If you have not heard of DHP, they are your go-to destination for all small space living furniture. From futons, mattresses, beds and dining tables, they deliver products that excel in design, quality, price and most importantly, multi-functionality. Their motto, “To keep your home stylish and also friendly on your wallet!”
