Last week I shared part one of my interior design trends 2019 forecast and this week I am taking it a step further with what I am seeing in the world of textiles and colors. It is in the colors and textiles that truly define a space and an era. We can easily recall certain decades of interior design trends by the details that finished the space, like mahogany cabinetry or yellow kitchen countertops. That’s why I really believe in trends and I am not turned off by that word, I knew some are. I am perfectly fine rocking these 2019 Color Trends, I just need a new house. So, let’s rock these new trends as they will define this monumental decade monumental we are all living in.
2019 Color Trends
Obviously there can be multiple trending colors and fabric designs, but when I was touring High Point Market last month, the list below were a common trends I saw in multiple showrooms. Maybe some design showrooms only had hints of it but they were still there. In fact, for the last year I have been bringing some of these colors not only into client homes but my own. I bet some of you can guess the first color.
Black
From black metal light fixtures to black leather and painted chairs. Black is the color that is emerging into interior spaces and I am loving it. It is a strong base color or can easily be used as an accent to not only modern homes but traditional spaces. I see it in the way Toma Haines, The Antique Diva, has used in in her line with Aidan Gray. It is done perfectly. And I am obsessed with how Hudson Valley has taken control of black. I literally want the entire collection. I need a new house.
Four Hands has incorporated this bold color into many of their metal pieces, from bookcases, to desks and chairs.
THE ANTIQUE DIVA FOR AIDAN GRAY
Can we just take a moment of silence for EJ Victor. Right? Truly incorporating every color we love and making it work. Obsessed how they used black as accent pieces in their pieces, especially the coffee tables.
Blue and Green
Blue has been a popular color in homes for a few years and “it ain’t” going anywhere soon. In fact, it is becoming a base color for many spaces. I have seen it in accessories, like pillows, for some time, but now, entire sofas covered the royal color are becoming a prominent staple in rooms. OH, and I am sure you have seen it…green is now the new accent color to watch out for.
CRYPTON FOR THIBAUT
From fabric to wallpapers it was hard to leave their showroom. I can’t even.
KIM ALMELA FOR NORWALK FURNITURE
Cisco nailed it! Bringing in subtle hues of green and blue on furniture pieces you did not want to get out of.
