It’s no secret, I do not live in a McMansion, so making use of each space it crucial. I have a laundry room that is not huge and truly is not a multipurpose laundry room, until I did something about it. I reorganized my laundry room recently, and made sure to incorporate a few key elements. Of course I wish I had my own home office, with a creative corner, aka craft area. A corner I could use for small project like sewing and gift wrapping. But I don’t. So, one day, staring at this small basement room, I figured out a way to create a multipurpose laundry room.
Multipurpose Laundry Room
I need a space to wrap presents and sew, two things I do on a more regular basis. The laundry room did not have space for a table; however, It fits my ironing board. So I leave it open and counter height all the time. Then, with some elfa pieces from the Container Store, I created a wall unit to house everything I would need. I didn’t want my sewing kits, thread, etc, getting dusty, so that is stored in a hanging tool box I found at Lowe’s. Also, under the ironing table is my tool box and all the gift wrapping rolls are in a container as well.
Now, when I need to quickly sew a pillow cover or wrap a present, I have everything in arms reach. Solution solved, my own little multipurpose laundry room.

The wall grid is a really helpful tool. It keeps things organized and also makes it easy to find what you need quickly.

I love that you utilized the space so nicely! My laundry room is more like a laundry closet, ahhaha, but that’s okay. It gets it’s job done. 🙂
