Last week someone asked if you have enough books for styling your coffee table. I was like, I don’t have enough coffee tables for my books. Which got me thinking, why don’t I share with you all my coffee table books for design lovers. Well, trust me, I could have 100 more and I hope one day to have a mini-library with them all, but in the meantime, you might ask, do you actually read them or are they for the show? Guess what, I do. When I get my coffee table books I source through them. It gives me an idea of the content. Then, if I have a design project for myself or a client I pull out some of my books for inspiration. Yes, I know, can you believe it, before Pinterest you might be found in a book store or library sorting through inspirational design books. Who would have thunk it?
Coffee Table Books For Design Lovers
Every stylist, designer has their own style and when it comes to sourcing inspirational books you should really stick to what inspires you. Then, of course, some that push your boundaries. For instance, Diane Keaton’s book, The House that Pinterest Built, my Picasso Book, or Indigo, all push my design aesthetics. But you need that sometimes. After that, I do pay attention to bookbinding design, covers, and colors. It won’t stop me from purchasing a book, but it will determine if it goes on my coffee table or on a bookshelf. Here are my current Spring coffee and entry table.
One Tip: I do change out the coffee table books when the season changes, cause of the binding colors. I simply keep them on the built-in shelves in my living room until they make their way back to the table.
Need some books for your coffee table, start with these.

I don’t have a coffee table. I have an ottoman instead, but I do have a lot of bookshelves.

These also make great book shelf styling.

That’s fun that you change them out according to season. I have one that is my fave, but I’m scared to put it out. I don’t want anyone to spill their drinks on it!

oh!! good point. Luckily that has not happened…yet. YIKES

We no longer have a coffee table but these look like some great reads. I will have to look into them.

This post couldn’t have come at a better time. I have a friend who is in the process of decorating her living room and is looking for great books to fill it with. Definitely going to share it with her.
