It’s week 2 of the One Room Challenge and it was a boring but crucial week. I spent the time making phone calls, contract negotiations and final decision making. Wish I could say we tore out the carpet, started painting, and are half way done, but, behind every design are the boring, tedious, and crucial moments necessary to make the plans actually work.

One Room Challenge
First and foremost I had to head to the carpet store and pick out some choices.
You might think it is fun, and it is for the first hour. But hours later when I still cannot decide, and I walk out with all of these…
YUP, decisions. If I had been shopping for my client, I would have made a decision in less than 20 minutes and call it a done deal. Done Done Done.
Now, I can feel the pain.
Okay, so decision had to be made. I needed something light in color because this space has zero natural light. I also needing something extremely durable because my kids are man babies as I call them. They are getting taller and larger than me but still walk like toddlers. Moms know what I mean.
After staring and stepping on all of these samples and having the kids test them out. I have decided to go with Maslands Carpets Carpaccio Loop Rug.
We currently have wall to wall carpet, but we will transition into a runner with painted white steps and glossy black handrail. I wanted to completely refinish the steps to match the wood floors, but the flooring guy told me it would basically cost an arm and leg. Well, that was an easy decision.
Anyhoo, the top pic is the final decision style board for the space, lighting, carpet, and paint. I am still on the hunt for a foyer table so stay tune.
