I have been in search of staircase runners, as part of my Stairscase Makeover Series, and I have finally narrowed it down to my top favorites…I think.
I was telling my mom, if it were for a client the decision would have been made in seconds and done! But, when it comes to my own home I can not commit. Totally feel how my clients do now. Ugh, decisions.
Okay, so after spending way too many hours at Lewis I finally brought some options home. Which ones do you like?
I KNOW!!!
Thank goodness Lewis Floor and Home doesn’t have a limit on how many samples you can take.
First, I placed all the samples on my living room floor because it has the exposed wood. Part of my plan is to refinish the wood under the existing runner. I am not a fan of dark hard woods for my current home, I love the country rustic feel of Natural / Puritan Pine. I needed to make sure which samples would work with the natural wood. Also, the living room has a lot of natural sunlight so I could see which shades I actually liked, I hate when I initially like a color thinking it is gray and then it has green hues.
Then I took the samples and placed it on the actual stairs.
The old carpet is still in place which is totally throwing off my mojo. Wish I could just tear it out ,but I need more time then the day allows.
Anyhoo, I was able to see which samples fit well with the white baseboards and went with the overall feel of the space.
After 2 days of staring at them I think I narrowed it down to these two.
I know, basically opposites!!
I am going crazy.
I won’t make a final decision until we can lift the existing carpet and paint the walls.
But in the mean time.
Option one is Langhorne’s 100% wool Herringbone
And Option 2 is Maslands Carpaccio
