For the last 10 years, I can’t believe it has been 10, I have had our annual family tree trimming party. It happens the Sunday after Thanksgiving, I invite the extended family over to literally decorate the tree (for me).
Lets be honest. My kids lose interest after putting up a couple ornaments and walk away. Leaving me to spend hours and hours and hours decorating not only the home but the tree. So, 10 years ago I started a family tradition. Our Tree Trimming Party.
Now, don’t think I am cruel, I feed these lovely people every year. This year we had butternut squash soup, pork tenderloin, creamed spinach and apple pie! YUMMO!

Anyhoo, back to the tree. When you have guests, christmas carols, egg nog, and sweets, everyone pitches in, and the kids actually stay the entire time until every last ornament goes up. WOO HOO!
This year we relaxed, ate some good warm food, and then daddy surprised us on the piano with christmas carols. Truly I think that was my little gals favorite part.
Ok, so give it a go. Make trimming the tree a family affair and start the holiday season off together!
Here is an oldie but goodie of my little boys a few years ago.

Adorable! I had no idea Billy knew how to play the piano- we will have to put his talents to work. Can't wait to have our own Tree Decorating Party, thanks for the fun family idea!
