I got this great new client. She is in her mid 60’s and a newlywed. I love her vibrant personality and her desire for style. She was previously married for over 20 years with the luxury of a large home with designer style. She had her previous home designed by a well-known North Shore designer 20 years ago. But after her divorce, she knew downsizing was going to happen sooner rather than later.
Well, after a few years of the single life and her children now grown, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart from the 1960’s. And the love was still there. Luckily, he was also recently divorced and ready to mingle. They didn’t waste any time and after 40 years decided to continue where they left off. They were married this past June.
My client had to sell her larger home and now has down-sized to a great new town home with her new hubby. Luckily, he is in the kitchen/bath stone business and understands the need for his wife to want to re-decorate. When I was hired they had already begun on the kitchen remodel, unfortunately, there is some misfortune that has happened there—that post coming soon.
Well, we are digging right in with painting starting this week. We are doing the entire first floor re-design. However, we have a complete blank canvas in the living room. Here is the current living room:
OK, so no worries, all the carpet has been pulled, and brand new dark hardware floors have been put in. We decided to keep the drapery…just kidding, those are out. We have painted the banister and trim.
I present my clients with 2 maybe 3 Style boards. A way to guide us for the shopping. BUT, I wanted to make this client extra happy and couldn’t stop pulling ideas together. Consequently, I have 4 boards. I don’t like to present clients with too many options because then they feel overwhelmed. So, feel free to send me your top 2 picks from the boards below. What are your favorites??

What a great story! This was an easy one for me. Number 3 for sure, I love the selections.. But number 2 is a close second!
By the way, what do you use for your boards? They look great…

Thanks Luci. I am leaning to #2 and #3 but it is all up to my client since I was hired as a consultant for this project and not project mngr. That is why I love when it is more of a project mngr. project, then I can do what I want 🙂 As for my boards I use olio. You could really take the olio boards to a whole new level. I use the professional package, monthly fee. But the basic package is free. I had to upgrade cause I wanted to incorporate my paint options, text, and I hope to find time to create more descriptive boards, one day. Thanks for always stopping by!!
