Updating that 1920’s built in china cabinet. When I first saw my home, I fell in love with the original 1920’s built-in china cabinet. However, the exterior had been painted in an oil based creme paint and the interior was painted an oil based darker beige. It just looked, well, tired.

When I had the dining room painted, I had the exterior of the cabinet painted a fresh white.

They didn’t paint the inside of the cabinet because I just couldn’t decide on a color in time. I knew I wanted something that would have my white plate collection shine in all it’s glory. I mean, we only use these plates 2-3 times a year, so why not have them visible the rest of the year. That way, I won’t forget that I have them .
After a lot of trial and error I decided on a dark blue color. From a distance it might look a little black, but wait till you see it up close.
