Dining Room Makeover: Dine My Room
Ok, just realized I lied. I couldn’t stand the beige trim so upon moving in I painted all the wood trim and crown molding white.
Oh, and there is my little munckin. When we moved in he was an avid crawler. Within 24 hours he was running all over. Amazing what open space does to a kid vs. city condo living. I regress.
So, we changed window treaments a couple times. no worries, I never went retail with this because I knew I couldn’t commit, so I made most of them.
Here is a picture of an updated window treatment I did trying to tie in the colors of the space. Though I still was not happy. The dining room didn’t stop us from hosting our annual X-mas Eve dinner but I knew a change would come.Notice the chairs. My ultimate goal is to get them re-upholstered in 2 different styles. Like a “modern-whimsy” look. But, that will be at the end of the makeover.
Okay, so that takes us into last week. Here are the pictures of the project Dine My Room. Above pictures you can see the great Rug find. Pottery Barn: 9×12 100% wool rug. Found it online retailing for $799. I paid $75 in brand new condition. They were moving to Tokyo! Syanara!!
So, I didn’t just wake up one morning, grab some paint and start the Dine My Room makeover. It was actually 2-3 months of non-stop project boarding. It took so long, because I work and have a family. When I had a little energy left in me, I would sit down and dream again about my dining room. I actually started keeping track of my ideas on Pinterest. I created two boards, Dining Rooms and Dine My Room – My Makeover. Click to see the boards
I guess you are waiting to see the After pictures! Check in tomorrow!

Where are the ‘after’ pictures? I suppose your dining still looks fine, but Christmas is coming. So, do you have any more dining room makeover plans before the Christmas Eve dinner? Arthur @ ContractorExpress
